Core Function(s)
- Organising smooth traffic flow, patrolling roads and official processions, and coordinating with the Interior Security Forces Department (Lekhoya) and Ceremonies Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Conducting investigations into traffic accidents.
- Issuing and renewing vehicle licenses, and supervising technical inspections related to the traffic law and the executive list and carrying out its decisions.
- Issuing driving licenses, renewing them and carrying out inspections on drivers according to traffic law.
- Promoting traffic awareness through information and traffic guidance in order to prevent the public from breaking the law, and coordinating with the General Information Department of the Ministry.
- Observing strict traffic laws, catching violators and collecting fines.
- Coordinating with specialist authorities.
- Providing social services for community members within the department's specialised area.
- Conducting required traffic studies and coordinating with the specialised authorities.
- Carrying out any other tasks assigned to the department within the scope of its competence.
